Describe used manga clearly.
Condition is one of the main reasons buyers hesitate on used manga. This guide gives sellers and buyers a shared way to talk about wear.
New / Sealed
Unread, sealed, or store-fresh with no visible flaws.
Like New
Looks close to new. No major shelf wear, folds, stains, or yellowing.
Very Good
Light shelf wear or minor edge marks, but clean pages and strong binding.
Good
Noticeable wear such as small bends, page yellowing, or scuffs. Fully readable.
Readable / Worn
Heavier wear, creases, stickers, or cosmetic flaws. Still complete and readable.
Ex-library
Former library copy. May include stamps, stickers, covers, or library markings.
Damaged / For parts
Missing pages, water damage, severe binding issues, or useful mainly for replacement volumes.
Photos to include
Front cover, back cover, spine, top edge, bottom edge, and any visible flaws such as folds, stains, stickers, tears, or corner damage.
Details to disclose
Yellowing, smoke smell, water damage, missing pages, loose binding, library markings, sun fading, remainder marks, writing, stickers, and mismatched editions.
When unsure
Choose the lower condition grade and explain why. Buyers are more likely to trust listings that are honest about flaws.
Buyer tip
If a listing does not show the spine, page edges, or damaged areas, message the seller before moving forward. For bundles and partial sets, confirm the exact volumes included.
